Need advice please.. drivingjobcentre.co.uk

You'll all probably roll your eyes at me, i'm sure you get enough questions like this but i thought i'd ask because i can't seem to find anything about this, cough, company on the internet which is unusual...

I think you’ve just saved me from being scammed for the first time ever, I’m pretty savvy and usually spot these scams a mile off but this one looks professional and seems to be Uk based.

After reading the bulletin points under scams in the FAQ sections it has all the hall marks. £24.95 an hour, shifts at set times etc.. What really got me suspicious was the letter I received in the mail this morning, professionally written and hand signed telling me I needed references and that they could recommend The Reference Group. If you look at both sites they follow similar design templates. If you look on the driving site it goes some length to explain how the job works.
Am I right in thinking this is a blatant but professional looking scam? What makes this a grey issue is I would expect some form of referencing to be needed and if you’re self employed then how do you get these references? I’ve not bothered to call either phone number.

Low and behold when i typed in the referencing companies address to google and the words "virtual office" a company at that address shows up!

Might be a good idea to list this company somewhere incase others come looking!

I'm off to report the advert to gumtree!

Sounds just like the jobs for drivers scam a few years back, which was designed to con you into paying for a useless reference check, of course never heard of anyone actually getting any work. Logistic Link was another similar scam promising high hourly rates, i think it finally closed down shortly after featuring on bbc watchdog.

100% SCAM guaranteed to lose you money.

drivingjobcentre.co.uk and thereferencegroup.co.uk are run by the same scamming lowlife offering jobs paying too good to be true rates for courier driving jobs that don't exist.

Try a google search to see how many people have been ripped off by these scum.
